UNIALFA received, on Thursday (30), the architect Arthur Henrique, master in restoration and conservation, for a lecture aimed at students of the Architecture and Urbanism course. The meeting focused on professional work in the area of restoration, highlighting the recovery work of the Zoroastro Artiaga Museum (Muza), in Goiânia.
During the presentation, the expert addressed topics such as the differences between restoration and conservation, preventive maintenance practices, and the technical challenges involved in interventions in historical heritage sites. The content was presented based on the architect's practical experience in the museum's restoration, a project carried out in partnership with the State Secretariat.
Practical experience and professional training
The lecture provided students with direct exposure to the job market, allowing them to understand the complexity of interventions in listed properties and the technical responsibility involved in this type of work.
“I am very happy with these meetings, because they are an opportunity to share our work on a listed property and contribute to the training of new professionals. I hope that the students of UNIALFA can continue this type of work, which is so important,” highlighted the architect Arthur Henrique.
Historical and architectural reference
The Zoroastro Artiaga Museum of Goiás is one of the main cultural institutions in the state and a landmark of the Art Deco complex in Praça Cívica, Goiânia. Housed in a building constructed between 1942 and 1943, the space was originally designed to house the Department of Press and Propaganda, being adapted as a museum in 1946.
Recognized as a historical landmark, the building was listed as a state heritage site in 1998 and by the National Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage (Iphan) in 2004. Its collection includes archaeological pieces, sacred art, objects of indigenous ethnology, and historical documents, contributing to the preservation of the cultural memory of Goiás.
Integration between theory and practice
This initiative reinforces UNIALFA's commitment to education connected to professional practice, providing students with contact with experts and real-world experiences in the market.
