The Psychology course coordination at UNIALFA will hold the mini-course "The Construction of Parenthood and the Challenges in Contemporary Clinical Practice," aimed at students from the 4th semester onwards. The activity will take place at the Bueno campus (Av. Mutirão), with meetings scheduled between May and June.
With a total workload of 16 hours, the mini-course aims to discuss parenthood from a psychological, relational, and sociocultural perspective, addressing the processes involved in becoming a mother and father, as well as contemporary challenges related to perinatal care.
Throughout the meetings, topics such as the transformations of motherhood and fatherhood, early bonding in child development, attachment theory, and the impacts of early relationships on emotional development will be addressed. The contributions of perinatal psychology and the possibilities for professional practice in this field will also be discussed.
The program will be divided into four thematic units, covering topics ranging from the sociocultural aspects of parenthood to the clinical analysis of situations related to the pregnancy and postpartum period.
Classes will take place on May 23rd and 30th, and June 13th and 20th, from 8 am to 12 pm, at the Bueno Mutirão unit.
This initiative reinforces UNIALFA's commitment to in-depth academic training and to offering activities that broaden students' understanding of topics relevant to professional practice in Psychology.
