UNIALFA partners with city hall to control COVID-19

Last Monday (27/07), the rector of the Alves Faria University Center, Mr. Carlos Eduardo Trindade, met with the mayor of Morrinhos, Rogério Troncoso, to discuss the monitoring of early treatment for coronavirus.

The research will move into its second phase and aims to expand disease control in the municipality. With this partnership, UNIALFA seeks to contribute to the social and economic development of the region, collecting statistics and guiding public policies adopted in relation to the spread of COVID-19. To this end, more than 400 serological tests and rapid tests will be carried out at home and in 43 neighborhoods, involving researchers from health and other segments.

“Based on this study, we will be able to verify the effectiveness or otherwise of the public policies adopted so far to prevent and combat the coronavirus. Through this consultancy, we will be able to better understand the situation of the disease in the municipality and implement other measures by the public administration,” says Rogério Troncoso.

In addition to the rector of UNIALFA and the mayor of Morrinhos, the meeting was also attended by the Secretary of Health, Pedro Dallara, the coordinator of the response, André Luiz Dias Mattos, and the communications advisor, Jailson Silva.
