Profile

Graduates of the Bachelor's Degree in Theology must have a critical professional profile, with humanistic training, analytical skills, mastery of concepts in the field of religiosity, ancient manuscripts, history of religiosity and religious phenomena. 

• Theological competence: you will know what the Christian faith confesses;
• Personal competence: you will know how to combine the testimony of the Christian faith with your own life;
• Competence in the area of communication: you will have perception capabilities and communication skills;
• Practical skills: you will be able to put into practice what you have learned in theory;
• Missionary competence: you will learn to read the culture and adapt the Christian message – without losing its content – to new contexts, situations and audiences.

Course Objective

The Bachelor's Degree in Theology EAD course at UNIALFA is aimed at training religious leaders, but also at training people interested in theological knowledge, whether for research purposes or in the search for an open and integrative understanding of human life and church-society action. 

The objective is to awaken in future theologians an integral spiritual life of commitment to biblical-theological knowledge to serve evangelization, pastoral work, research and dialogue between the Church and society, in different aspects: biosocial, political-economic, ethical, multicultural, scientific and educational, pointing out paths of dialogue for the transformation of society.

Performance in the job market

A bachelor in Theology can work in:

• Ecclesiastical and ministerial leadership (churches, pastorals and ministries);
• Missionary and/or humanitarian agencies;
• Hospital, business, school, military, prison, sports and offshore platform chaplaincy;
• Teaching in Theological Education and related areas of the humanities;
• Publishers, in the production of magazines and books focused on religion;
• Activities in NGOs providing religious, social and humanitarian services;
• Development of research in the area of Theology, Religious Sciences and related fields.
