In the current political, social and economic context in which the country finds itself, knowledge of Accounting Sciences It is essential for decision-making under a condition of certainty, as it is a science that serves the most diverse audiences: the government always demands information about the addition of wealth to the economy and the ability to pay taxes; investors are always looking to discover businesses that enhance their assets; creditors want to identify the liquidity condition of their debtors; unions are concerned about the ability to pay salaries; managers seek subsidies for their decision-making processes through information and performance evaluations; city governments seek to know the social and tax contributions of organizations; entrepreneurs need support to start or promote the development of their business, among others.

 

Profile

  • Demonstrate managerial and humane conduct, based on ethics combined with social and professional responsibility;
  • Act professionally in accounting, management and administration of organizations, through scientifically based, technically appropriate and socially significant actions, especially in the measurement and quantification of financial, economic and asset information; in audits, expert assessments, in actuarial and controllership activities, whether at national or international level;
  • Develop sensitivity to changes, rethinking the role of the Accountant, whether in financial or human terms, before society;
  • Establish efficient interpersonal communication, considering that different opinions facilitate problem-solving;
  • Plan and develop/implement actions relevant to your field of professional activity, in line with regional, national and global needs/demands/potential;
  • Plan, implement and evaluate professional actions, considering different possibilities of implementation, analyzing advantages and disadvantages, implications, risks and results, in order to select the most appropriate one(s) to the organizational interests, paying attention to innovative management models;
  • Act prudently, critically and effectively, making coherent decisions in the demands generated by the economic interdependence of the contemporary world, whether between companies or between nations;
  • Make extensive use of modern information technology resources to streamline the organization's accounting processes and disseminate information to facilitate decision-making at different organizational levels;
  • Interact with other knowledge necessary for the application of Accounting Science in organizations, especially those related to legislation.

 

Course Objective

To morally, intellectually and technically educate students, who are essential elements of society, to perform strategic functions, qualifying them for insertion in their respective professional sectors and for participation in the development of Brazilian society as a whole, in accordance with the major objectives of National Education, as defined in article 30 of Law 9,349/96, in the Federal Constitution, in the legislation specific to the Accounting Sciences Course and all complementary legal framework.

 

Specific objectives 

  • Promote the study, research, teaching and dissemination of Accounting Science as an instrument for creating and solving organizational problems, at any level or order, local or international, so that unwanted everyday situations are eliminated and replaced by more efficient and effective solutions;
  • To train graduates who are capable of entering professional sectors and participating in the development of Brazilian society, as well as to collaborate in their ongoing training;
  • Stimulate cultural creation and the development of the scientific spirit and reflective thinking;
  • Encourage research and scientific investigation work;
  • Promote the dissemination of cultural, scientific and technical knowledge;
  • Arouse the permanent desire for cultural and professional improvement and enable the corresponding realization;
  • Stimulate knowledge of current world problems, particularly national and regional ones, provide specialized services to the community and establish a reciprocal relationship with it;
  • Promote extension.
