On Wednesday, August 5th, UNIALFA held the third day of Planning Week 2026/2, with a program dedicated to research and innovation in higher education. The activities brought together coordinators and faculty for training, exchange of experiences, and reflection on academic practices aimed at strengthening learning and scientific production.
The program began in the morning with the remote activity "UDL in Practice," aimed at coordinators and teachers. The activity expanded discussions on Universal Design for Learning, an approach that contributes to the development of more accessible, flexible pedagogical strategies aligned with different learning styles. The activity included the participation of Admaicon, Daiany, and Keyla from the Student Support Center.
Scientific initiation and undergraduate thesis were central themes.
In the evening, the program continued in the Maria Dilda Auditorium with the lecture “Scientific Initiation and Final Course Project: training researchers, professionals and problem solvers”, conducted by Prof. Dr. Pedro Henrique Rodrigues de Sousa. The activity was aimed at coordinators and teachers and was part of the Research and Innovation in Higher Education axis of the Planning Week.
During the meeting, participants reflected on the role of scientific initiation and final course projects in academic training. More than just mandatory steps in the university trajectory, these processes contribute to developing critical thinking, investigative capacity, intellectual autonomy, and the ability to propose solutions to real-world problems.
The discussion also reinforced the importance of faculty guidance in building more consistent research pathways. By guiding students in scientific projects and academic work, professors contribute to bridging the gap between theory, professional practice, and knowledge production.
Exchange of experiences strengthened academic practices.
Following that, the program included the activity "Crossed Conversations," also in the Maria Dilda Auditorium, with the participation of Prof. Dr. Pedro Henrique Rodrigues de Sousa and guests. This event facilitated dialogue between coordinators and faculty, fostering the exchange of experiences on research, innovation, and the challenges of higher education.
The activity contributed to broadening the debate on how to strengthen academic culture within courses, encouraging practices that value scientific research, interdisciplinarity, and the training of students better prepared to analyze contexts, develop projects, and act critically in their fields.
Continuing education to improve teaching.
The third day of Planning Week reinforced UNIALFA's commitment to the continuing education of its faculty and to consolidating academic practices connected to the contemporary demands of higher education. By bringing together DUA (Distance Learning and Accessibility), scientific initiation, final course projects, and innovation in the same program, the institution highlighted the importance of thinking about teaching in an accessible, investigative, and problem-solving-oriented way.
Planning Week 2026/2 continues with new activities focused on faculty planning, building learning experiences, working groups, and the academic and administrative convention.
With this initiative, UNIALFA reaffirms its commitment to academic quality, pedagogical innovation, and the training of students capable of producing knowledge, developing solutions, and acting responsibly in their professional fields.
