TCCII MULTISPORT COMPLEX

This final undergraduate project proposes the development of a preliminary architectural project of a social nature for the city of Goianira-GO. The proposal foresees a public facility for a Multi-Sports Complex, to serve the community where it will be located, offering quality intellectual, physical and social development to the population in particular. The Multi-Sports Complex is a building that brings together several sports modalities in one, and can be of various scales, including small or large activities. The purpose of this type of building is to provide spaces for development, knowledge and creation of new perspectives. Stimulating the practice of sports can be considered a public policy for social inclusion. The accession of sports in this context in which a Multi-Sports Complex is proposed is not so much about the discovery and training of high-performance athletes, but rather about the development of physical and mental capacity and well-being, as a whole of society. Sports spaces allow for the exchange of culture and knowledge, encouraging the exercise of important principles that will be elevated beyond sports and are part of the formation of personality and character as an individual. Working together, discipline, respect, responsibility, cooperation, solidarity, and the development of cognitive-motor skills, such as balance, persistence, concentration, patience, reasoning, and agility, are some of these principles that could be mentioned in the context of the development of physical, psychological, and intellectual health. The playful perspective regarding sports stimulates the pleasure of practicing and learning, serving as a period of relaxation, interpersonal relationships, and occupation of available time. The inclusion of the individual in the most diverse sports seeks to be a method of training, preparation, and adaptation to life, and, however, enables the social change of the place in which one is inserted, as a result of the change of individuals. These goals are intended to be achieved through welcoming spaces that stimulate and allow intellectual development and learning through pedagogical resources and adequate structure, enabling the dissemination and production of knowledge with the participation and involvement of the population, as a result of the proposal of this preliminary project. 19 The main motivation for choosing a theme of this nature is based on the lack of cultural, artistic and sports activities in the city of Goianira, offered free of charge and with adequate infrastructure. Thus, conceiving a Multi-Sports Complex, characterizing it as an initiative to value and consolidate the infrastructure of the neighborhood and the city. As a bibliographic basis for understanding and deepening their functions, the following books were consulted: “Lessons in Architecture”, “Architecture under the User’s Eye”, “Manual do Arquiteto Descalço”, “Novos Espaços Para Esporte e Lazer. Planejamento e Gestão de Instalações Esportivas, Atividades Físicas, Educação Física e Lazer”, and “Morte e Vida das Grandes Cidades” by Herman Hertzberger, Theo JM van der Voordt, HBR van Wegen, Luis Milanesi, Johan van Lengen, Adilson Melendez, and Jane Jacobs, where throughout the books, architecture, urbanism, sports, and culture are covered. Web pages that discuss the topic of Multisport Complexes were also consulted, such as: archdaily, archweb, vitruvius, busyboo, and arcoweb, in order to generate more clarity on the topic. As an indirect case study, the following projects were analyzed: Sesc Guarulhos, Tianjin University New Campus Sports Center, and Brazilian Paralympic Center, located in the respective cities of Guarulhos, Tianjin, Diadema, and São Paulo, and the design influence that will be used in the architectural design of the preliminary project was collected. The preliminary architectural design of the Multi-Sports Complex proposes solutions that address existing problems, offering opportunities and perspectives for the population, with an institution of value to the population, which can establish relationships with the city, truly forming a public space, promoting sports activities that seek to encourage and value art, in addition to offering large areas of connivance where society of all ages and classes can gather and provide interaction among them. The project's needs program has essential attributes for a good operation that can provide quality of well-being to users and education.
