Course Objective

To train competent social workers committed to planning, implementing, coordinating and evaluating social policies and projects with individuals, groups, communities and institutions.

As a professional who is essential to addressing the major challenges facing Brazil today, the training of social workers involves a critical understanding of social problems and their relationships with popular movements and demands. In addition to this understanding, social workers must master a set of theories, methods, and ethical, political, and methodological procedures for action in social processes.

Performance in the job market

You are qualified to work in public bodies and private companies (hospitals, health centers, children's and youth courts), unions, philanthropic entities, non-governmental organizations, shelters, daycare centers, residents' associations, companies, and also work as a teacher in higher education institutions.

Social workers have been asked to work in multidisciplinary teams in different contexts, as this professional's perspective deepens social knowledge in other areas.
