Professor Doctor Rafael Campos Soares da Fonseca, member of the faculty of ALFA Education Law School, recently received two important honors in recognition of his notable contribution to legal education and advocacy in Brazil.
On August 29, 2024, in a ceremony held in São Luís, Maranhão, the professor was honored with the Fran Paxeco Academic Merit Medal from the Maranhão Academy of Legal, Social and Political Culture. This honor is intended for professors who significantly stand out in legal teaching, contributing to human development and the strengthening of the Democratic Rule of Law.
The Fran Paxeco Medal honors Manuel Francisco Pacheco, a central figure in the creation of the Maranhão Law School in 1918. The award is a recognition of the dedication of Professor Rafael Fonseca, who has stood out for his academic performance and his contributions to the field of Law.
Furthermore, the The Brazilian Bar Association – Maranhão Section also recognized Professor Rafael’s work by awarding him the Medal of Merit in Legal Education “Professor José Maria Martins”. This medal, the highest honor of the OAB Maranhão, highlights the relevant services provided by the professor, as well as his notable performance in legal education.
These two honors, granted by highly prestigious institutions, reflect the excellence of Professor Rafael Fonseca, who has been an example of dedication and competence, both in the legal profession and in legal education. He was also honored by the City Council of São Luís with the title of Citizen of São Luís., reinforcing the significant impact of its work in the legal field.
