Course presentation

With the Specialization in Trichology and Hair Therapy, the professional will be able to: 

  • Understand how the skin and hair work, as well as the main dysfunctions that affect the scalp;
  • Identify the biochemical and metabolic processes that affect hair and scalp;
  • Use concepts of toxicology and immunology for the diagnosis and treatment of trichological disorders;
  • Apply biosafety practices and prevention of biological and chemical risks in the practice of Trichology;
  • Use appropriate equipment and instrumentation for the application of therapeutic techniques in Trichology;
  • Understand the principles of cosmetics applied to hair health and development;
  • Apply diagnostic and treatment techniques for trichological diseases;
  • Use strategies to create personalized looks that are appropriate for each individual;
  • Understand the technologies used to act on the hair structure;
  • Use active ingredients, destructuring agents and hair modifiers for hair treatment;
  • Apply hair therapy techniques to treat various dysfunctions.

This course is for you, who already has a degree in Aesthetics, Physiotherapy, Biomedicine, Nursing or other professionals in related areas, such as chemists and biologists, who are involved or interested in the area of trichology and hair treatment, and whose desire is to expand the field of activity within one of the fastest growing professional areas - Aesthetics.

  • Improve theoretical and practical knowledge in the area of Trichology and Hair Therapy;
  • Highlight the importance of interdisciplinarity in the work of Trichology and Hair Therapy;
  • Deepen understanding of various aesthetic and restorative dysfunctions;
  • Identify the various manifestations and treatment strategies in patients;
  • Train and qualify professionals to work in the area of Trichology and Hair Therapy, developing skills;
  • Assess, diagnose, select appropriate products and apply specific treatment techniques.

    4. Electrotherapy, biostimulation and therapeutic instrumentation

    • Study of electrotherapy and biostimulation techniques applied to Trichology
    • Knowledge of equipment and instrumentation used in the practice of Trichology
    • Development of practical skills for the application of therapeutic techniques with instrumentation

    5. Cosmetology applied to hair health and development

    • Study of cosmetic principles applied to hair health and development
    • Knowledge about the properties of cosmetic ingredients and their applications in Trichology
    • Development of specific cosmetic formulas and products for the health and beauty of hair and scalp

    6. Pathology applied to Trichology and hair therapy

    • Study of diseases and conditions that affect the hair and scalp
    • Understanding the causes, symptoms and treatments for trichological diseases
    • Development of practical skills for the diagnosis and treatment of trichological diseases

    7. Visagism in Trichology

    • Introduction to the concepts of visagism applied to Trichology
    • Development of practical skills for assessing patients' personal and hair image
    • Strategies for creating personalized looks that are right for each individual

    8. Active, destructuring and hair modifying technologies

    • Study of the technologies used to act on the hair structure
    • Knowledge about active ingredients, destructuring agents and hair modifiers
    • Understanding the properties of products and equipment used for hair treatment

    9. Cosmetology Practices applied to Trichology and Hair Therapy

    • Development of practical skills for the application of cosmetology techniques in Trichology
    • Application of hair therapy techniques to treat various dysfunctions
