THE Psychopedagogical Support Center – NAP from UNIALFA develops a work of follow-up and support to students in their process teaching-learning, enhancing your performance academic and supporting your efforts, investing in the development of integrated actions and ensuring a quality education with accessibility. 

The NAP still elaborates and coordinates activities to complement and supplement the performance of students with difficulties in learning process, when providing didactic-pedagogical guidance relevant to their academic performance. 

Objectives

The purpose of the NAP is to promote and to accompany pedagogical and psychopedagogical guidance in support of students, to the Faculty and to Course Coordination; elaborate and coordinate complementary and supplementary study projects for the students with academic performance deficits; carry out meeting with freshmen, explaining about study techniques and time management; coordinate and to accompany the Course of Leveling knowledge in Portuguese Language and Mathematics, Information and Communication Technologies – ICTs, in addition to Program of Volunteer Monitoring and Paid and Career and Retention Program. 

Furthermore, the objectives of NAP are: 

  • Promote educational support with personalized service to develop study habits; 

  • Encourage the development of the human person through the use of its own resources and potential; 

  • Guide the student regarding the techicas and strategies for managing your study time

  • Welcome students entering UNIALFA to better adaptation to academic life

  • Encourage autonomy and development integral of the students, focusing on a vieffective academic performance, with greater use of teaching and learning capacity of the same

Main activities

  • Psychopedagogical care: Based on the specific needs of each student, the techniques and tools to be used to resolve issues that interfere with the student's academic performance are defined; 

  • Monitoring: Organization of study groups to reinforce the academic performance of students with low academic performance. The activities are linked to a course subject and carried out under the guidance of a teacher; 

  • LevelingFree classes in Basic Mathematics, Portuguese Language, Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), and Applied Mathematics for Engineering are offered to students at the beginning of each semester to improve their performance in basic subjects. 

  • Conecta+: Promote actions that favor the retention and success of students in undergraduate courses at the HEI, reducing dropout rates and strengthening institutional ties; 

  • Current Affairs in FocusLectures that adopt a pedagogical approach focused on critical reflection on contemporary themes with the purpose of expanding the analytical capacity and civic education of students.

  • University ListeningIt offers students a safe and confidential space for active listening, promoting emotional support and contributing to the personal balance and well-being of members of the academic community;

  • Forwarding: If the need is identified, the student is referred to the Psychology School Clinic, Internship Center and/or Special Education Support Center.

Voluntary Monitoring

In the UNIALFA, the Monitoring Program is understood as an instrument for the improvement undergraduate education and is done through organization of study groups for academic reinforcement of students with low academic performance. In this way, it establishes new practices and experiences pedagogical approaches aimed at strengthen the articulation between theory, practice and curricular integration in its different aspects.

The activities are carried out jointly between teacher and student, and linked to an undergraduate course discipline at UNIALFA facilities. The purpose of the monitoring is to promote the mutual cooperation between students and teachers and the experience with the teacher and their technical-didactic activities, both under the guidance of a teacher and the supervision of the course coordinator.

Paid Tutoring

THE BARU/ALFACAST – Experimental Communication and News Agency, is aimed exclusively at students regularly enrolled in undergraduate courses in Social Communication: Advertising and Propaganda and Social Communication: Journalism at the Alves Faria University Center (UNIALFA), and aims to simulate practices and routines linked to communication through the production of materials for real clients.

 

THE Center for Studies, Research and Psychological Practices (NEP) from the Alves Faria University Center – UNIALFA is configured in a space of academic and professional training of students. He is responsible for the research and internship practices of Psychology undergraduates, through the provision of psychological services to the community.

 

THE Pharmacy Academic Monitoring, in the Anatomy Laboratory Practice, offers students the opportunity to deepen theoretical knowledge and develop practical skills essential for professional training. Under faculty guidance, monitors assist with laboratory activities, strengthening collaborative learning and understanding of the systems and organs of the human body.

 

THE Academic Monitoring of Pre-Calculus in Engineering supports students in mastering the mathematical foundations essential to the course. Under the guidance of faculty, tutors assist with problem-solving and conceptual clarification, strengthening the theoretical foundation and preparing students for more advanced courses.

 

THE Academic Monitoring in Information Systems, in the Programming and Calculus Techniques courses, helps strengthen students' logical and mathematical foundations. With the support of tutors and faculty guidance, students are supported in developing code, solving problems, and understanding fundamental concepts for training in the technology field.

About the course

The Leveling Program of the Alves Faria University Center – UNIALFA is turned, preferably, to the students of the first and second periods of the UNIALFA undergraduate course, being offered free of charge, considering meeting the theoretical and technical difficulties faced by students. 

When faced with this reality, UNIALFA offers the Leveling Course in Portuguese Language, Basic Mathematics and Applied Mathematics for Engineering, offered free of charge to students at the beginning of each academic semester with the aim of supporting students in their studies for a better university education.

To be entitled to certification of participation in the Leveling program, whose hours will be used to complete complementary activities, the student must have 75% attendance (with only 2 absences), as the course is not evaluated by exam, but by participation.

Objective

The Leveling Program aims to strengthen the knowledge base of the students, providing one better adaptation to the teaching superior.

Target audience

Workload

Portuguese Language, Basic Mathematics, and Applied Mathematics for Engineering classes will be offered in person, with a workload of 20 hours.

THE Career and Retention Program (CONECTA+) is an institutional program of UNIALFA whose main objective is promote the reception, the permanence and the success of undergraduate students (in-person and distance learning), reducing dropout rates and strengthening the link with life academic.

Through integrated actions, the CONNECT+ accompanies the student from the ticket in the institution until its training, offering academic, psychopedagogical and professional development.

How does the program work?

THE CONNECT+ is structured in five axes main ones:

 

  • Diagnosis and Monitoring – Mapping of student profiles and continuous monitoring of academic performance and attendance.
  • Reception and Integration – Welcome week, student mentoring program and academic adaptation workshops.
  • Academic and Psychopedagogical Support – Strengthening of Monitoring and Leveling programs, Academic skills workshops and individual or group support.
  • Personal and Professional Development – Training paths in SoftSkills, Entrepreneurship and employability, in addition to educational guidance.
  • Communication and Relationship – Active listening channel, personalized service, and monthly dissemination of opportunities, events, and inspiring stories.

The lectures “Your Future Starts TodayThese events marked the welcoming of new UNIALFA students at the beginning of the semester, led by the Educational Advisors. Cleuton Filho and Sarah MachadoThe meeting reinforced the importance of this new academic cycle as a moment of transformation personal, intellectual and social.

Upon entering higher education, the student begins to experience a journey in which the leading role It becomes essential. The university ceases to be merely a space for classes and becomes an environment of knowledge building, coexistence, search and innovationDuring the lecture, it was highlighted that the academic development It goes beyond the classroom: it involves time management, participation in projects, engagement in activities extracurricular activities and the use of institutional support services.

On September 16th and 17th, the CONNECT+ promoted reflection and the development of strategies of personal organization and academic among students. Based on the understanding that university life involves multiple demands, the meeting provided guidance on how to plan goals, manage time, and balance professional, personal, and social aspects during undergraduate studies.

The speaker Cleuton Filho addressed concepts of personal planning and career planhighlighting the importance of define objectives of short, average and long term, to develop skillstake advantage of opportunities such as stages, projects and extension activitiesand maintain healthy habits that promote well-being and the academic performance.

Also discussed common challengessuch as procrastination and overload, presenting practical strategies to establish routines productive and use tools organizationlike digital agendas and applications of task management.

Lecture: Construction of the Identity of the Person with ASD.

On April 9th, at the Bueno Unit, we held the lecture “Construction of the Identity of the Person with ASD”, led by Prof. Pedro Alexandre Lisboa Campos, professor of the Psychology course.

The meeting brought together mainly Psychology students in a moment of learning, exchange and awareness about Autism Spectrum Disorder, reinforcing the importance of empathy, inclusion and respect for differences, both in the academic environment and in professional practice.

April was autism awareness month — an invitation to reflect, learn, and value neurodiversity.

 

 

Lecture: Autism: from childhood to adulthood – A look beyond the diagnosis.

On April 22nd, UNIALFA hosted the lecture "Autism: From Childhood to Adulthood – A Look Beyond Diagnosis," led by Prof. Esp. Saymon Ferraz. The event brought together students, faculty, and others interested in the topic for an enriching conversation marked by information, sensitivity, and empathy.

Using accessible language and a welcoming approach, the professor emphasized the importance of understanding autism at all stages of life, going beyond clinical aspects. Saymon brought up issues such as inclusion, coexistence, and the challenges faced by autistic people, encouraging reflection on how society can offer greater support and understanding.

The event helped broaden participants' perspectives on the autism spectrum, reinforcing the role of education in building a more empathetic and informed society.

On May 7th and 14th, at the Perimetral and Mutirão units, we welcomed specialist Daiany Tavares for the lecture “Your Brain, Your Boss: The Operating Manual for Your Mind”.

The event, aimed at the academic community, addressed self-awareness strategies and applied neuroscience, focusing on managing one's own thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to achieve better results in personal life and at work.

Once again, UNIALFA reinforces its commitment to promoting events that connect knowledge, human development and transformative experiences.

 

 

 

I Academic Journey: Study. Plan. Achieve. 

The event developed on Saturday, May 17th, gathered students, teachers and professionals on a day full of knowledge, exchange of experiences and inspiration.

With a dynamic schedule from 9am to 4pm, the day featured lectures by professionals, such as Itla Almeida, Kamylla Cavalcante, Dana Tomazett, Elizete de Castro, Cleuton Filho and Sarah Machado, who addressed essential themes for the academic and professional lifeTopics discussed included career planning, life projects, mental health, artificial intelligence, personal organization, and purpose in fast-paced times.

The speeches brought important reflections on the role of the student as protagonist of the trajectory itself, in addition to strategies practices to face challenges and search balance between studies, work and well-being.

The event also featured a moment of networking and integration during the lunch break, promoting connections between participants and expanding the collaborative learning environment.

Thinking like this, the UNIALFA, in partnership with University Pastoral, presents the Project University Listening, a space dedicated to active listening, to the human welcome and to comprehensive care to the needs emotional and spyrituals of the academic community.

 

We believe that the emotional balance and the spiritual experience are fundamental pillars for the learning, for healthy relationships and for building a life with sense and purpose. More than a place to talk, Listening University student represents a commitment with comprehensive training. 

How does the program work?

THE Listening University student if will take place in one safe environment, confidential and welcoming, where students, teachers and collaborators may share feelings, challenges and experiences. The service will be carried out by professionals and volunteers able to listen with empathy, guide with sensitivity and, when necessary, forward to support suitable specialized. 

 

 

With this initiative, the UNIALFA and the University Pastoral reaffirm its mission to educate beyond the classroom, promoting an environment of Careful, support and appreciation of the person in all their dimensions.

Current Affairs in Focus is a strategic program of UNIALFA that seeks strengthen the comprehensive education of students, expanding your vision critical and citizen. By means of lectures, debates and practical activities, the project integrates current issues and relevant to academic training, preparing our students for the labor market challenges and for external assessments, such as ENADE, OAB and CFC.

In addition to enrich learning, the program promotes the interdisciplinarity, encourages the critical thinking and values the building solutions for contemporary problems.
