Course Objective

It encourages the development of fundamental skills for the practice of the profession. These are:

Graduate profile

  • Scale and integrate productive resources efficiently and at the lowest cost, considering the possibility of continuous improvements;
  • Use mathematical and statistical tools to model production systems and assist in decision making;
  • Design, implement and improve systems, products and processes, taking into account UFV's tradition and potential to serve communities (scientific, business, agro-industrial, among others).
  • Predict and analyze demands, select methods and process know-how incorporating quality concepts and techniques in their technological and organizational aspects.
  • Being able to perceive trends and innovations in the productive sectors and promote changes that have an impact on competitiveness.
  • Understand the interrelationship between production systems and the environment, both in terms of the use of scarce resources and the final disposal of waste and rejects, paying attention to the requirement for sustainability.
  • Use performance indicators, costing systems, as well as assess the economic and financial viability of projects.

Job market

The production engineer is the one who is able to connect the main engineering activities with the management capacity and business vision of the administration. He is the professional who develops projects and takes care of processes that involve people and equipment.

As a differentiator, it has a good technological repertoire combined with knowledge of leadership, productivity and process efficiency. The profession is among those that continue to grow steadily, even in the face of a scenario of economic slowdown.

Doctor Rodrigo Lisita Ribera

He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Uberlândia (2005), a specialization in Occupational Safety Engineering from the Federal University of Uberlândia (2007), a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Uberlândia (2007) and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Uberlândia (2015), with a sandwich period at Imperial College London (2012). He is currently a tax auditor for the City Hall of Goiânia, a substitute professor at the Federal University of Goiás, a professor at the Universidade Paulista and a professor at Faculdades Alves Faria. He has experience in Mechanical Engineering, with an emphasis on Thermodynamics and Fluid Dynamics, working mainly on the following topics: computational fluid dynamics, energy, and multiphase flows.
