Students from the Pedagogy course at UNIALFA participated on Wednesday, September 2nd, in a practical activity at the Toy Library, led by Professor Jéssica Andrade, in the subject Education and Information and Communication Technologies. The class was themed "The literary book as a pedagogical tool" and proposed a reflection on the use of literature in the construction of knowledge and the development of creativity.
During the activity, students chose books with themes relevant to society and the educational context. Based on the selected works, they developed different possibilities for pedagogical approaches, considering the guidelines of the subject and the specific proposals of each class.
Literature as a learning resource
The proposal aimed to understand the potential of literary books as a pedagogical resource in the classroom. More than just working on reading in isolation, the activity showed how literature can be used to stimulate imagination, broaden knowledge, foster dialogue, and promote reflection on different themes present in social and school life.
In the training of future educators, experiences like this contribute to the development of more creative, sensitive, and contextualized practices. By considering the book as a pedagogical tool, students are encouraged to plan strategies that connect reading to students' reality and make the learning process more meaningful.
Teacher training in practice
The experience in the Toy Library also allowed students to connect theory and practice, experimenting with forms of reading mediation and the collective construction of knowledge. The activity fostered the exchange of experiences, research into methodologies, and the creation of proposals geared towards teaching.
For UNIALFA, initiatives like this strengthen the academic training of Pedagogy students and reinforce the importance of preparing professionals capable of acting with creativity, pedagogical intentionality, and sensitivity in the face of the challenges of Basic Education.
