The graduate of Master's Degree in Economic Constitutional Law (MADIR) from UNIALFA, Julio Cesar Oliveira de Souza, recently released his newest book entitled Ethics and Market: The Brazilian Economic Constitutional Order under Analysis. The work, the result of his dissertation, focuses on the complex relationship between ethics and the market in the context of the Brazilian constitutional economic order, offering the reader a critical analysis of the conception of the State and its evolution over time.

The launch of the work, which is now available in physical and ebook format at Amazon, marks an important step in Júlio César's academic career, which aims to contribute to the incessant debate on the intersections between ethical and economic principles that permeate the political and social organization of Brazil.

A Critical Analysis of the Brazilian Economic Order

With a detailed philosophical approach, Ethics and Market: The Brazilian Economic Constitutional Order under Analysis explores the intersection between political and economic relations in Brazil, highlighting how these elements influence the formation and evolution of the concept of the State. The work focuses on the ethical principles that govern human relations and the tendency toward self-interest that fuels individualism in economic matters. In Brazil, these principles, although often in opposition, are listed in the Constitution as fundamental elements of a State that seeks to balance free-market economic development with the solidarity necessary for the common good.

Author's Words

Professor Me. Júlio César shares his vision about the project:

“It is with great joy that I share the launch of this work entitled Ethics and Market: The Brazilian Economic Constitutional Order under Analysis. The work has as its theme the (in)existent relations between these political and economic institutes and the influence they have on the formation and evolution of the concept of State, especially in the context of the Brazilian Economic Order founded on the capitalist economic system and social objectives guided by the sign of solidarity.”

Julius Caesar expresses his gratitude to Prof. Dr. Marina Faraco, who wrote the preface to the book, for the guidance and lessons that were essential for the development of the research. In addition, he thanks Prof. Dr. Rodrigo Cavalcante and to Publisher Without Borders for the exceptional work in editing the work. The author hopes that the book will be a useful and thought-provoking read, capable of enriching the debate on the subject.

Academic Recognition

Prof. Dr. Marina Faraco, responsible for the preface of the work, highlights the importance and academic value of the book:

“It is a rich and consistent work, easy to read, and, for these reasons, of profound use to anyone interested in the study of Economic Constitutional Law, serving a variety of groups, such as students, professionals, theorists and legal practitioners alike.”

The book has the potential to become a fundamental reference for students and legal professionals, as well as theorists and pragmatists seeking to better understand the complexity of the Brazilian constitutional economic order.

An Invitation to Debate

Ethics and Market: The Brazilian Economic Constitutional Order under Analysis is not only a significant contribution to the field of Law, but also an invitation to the ongoing debate on the mutual influences between ethics, economics and politics in Brazil. By addressing the dichotomy between ethical and economic principles, Júlio César invites the reader to reflect on the importance of the balance between economic development and social solidarity, principles that the Brazilian Constitution aims to integrate.
