The bachelor in computer Science is able to solve problems by computerizing and/or automating real-world situations in any area of human knowledge. He/she can, therefore, build systems to support medicine, engineering, law, social sciences, etc. In particular, he/she can even build systems to facilitate the construction of new computing systems. As an illustration, it is possible to say that a bachelor in Computer Science can work in the construction and/or evaluation of complex systems, such as:

• Supervision of an intensive care unit;
• Support for environmental monitoring;
• Support for citizenship, human resources management systems;
• Supervision of space flights, support systems and industrial production planning;
• Management of large computer networks.

Course Objective 

The Computer Science course has computing as its core activity, and thus aims to train professionals with a deep technical and scientific foundation in the area. In other words, they are qualified to enter professional, academic and scientific sectors, and can also participate in the development of Brazilian society and contribute to the advancement of science and technology.

Performance in the job market

Bachelors in Computer Science work on developing computer programs. They are responsible for designing and developing software, creating and maintaining technological environments such as databases, operating systems, computer networks, among other related activities in the computing area.
