The “Smart city in the mind” project, created by Master’s student Sonia Alexandre (Professional Master’s in Regional Development at UNIALFA), won 3rd place in the 2nd State Fiscal Education Award – Affego.
The initiative is a proposal to build a city together with the 6th and 7th grade classes at CEPI (Full-Time Education Center) Francisco Maria Dantas, in Goiânia (GO).
The goal of the activity, which lasts all year, is for students to become administrators and save enough to buy a plot of land within the city, which costs between R$1,000 and R$1,500. The bankbook is made by hand and the fictitious money depends on the activities in class, interest, and fines.
