The increasing complexity of the environment in which public and private organizations operate has driven changes in the education and preparation of professionals who will work in the increasingly globalized market. In this sense, the market has sought professionals capable of performing multiple functions by connecting different areas, who are capable of working in a team, with a systemic vision and the ability to perform qualitative/quantitative analyses. 

Therefore, the EAD Public Administration course must offer program content that prepares the student to meet the needs of public organizations, considering the use of artificial intelligence, technologies and the speed of market changes. 

 

Profile

  • Recognize, define and address problems of public interest;
  • Think strategically, introduce changes, act preventively, transfer and generalize knowledge;
  • Exercise the decision-making process and formulation of public policies, programs, plans and projects and to develop evaluations, analyses and critical reflections on the public area;
  • Develop awareness of the ethical implications of professional practice, especially the understanding of the republican and democratic ethos and the commitment to regional development (economic, social, cultural);
  • Express oneself critically and creatively in different organizational and sociocultural contexts, developing expression and communication appropriate to negotiation processes and inter-institutional communications.

 

Course Objective

To train professionals with a historical and interdisciplinary view of Public Administration capable of working at federal, state and municipal levels. Competently administering and advising governmental and non-governmental organizations in a proactive, democratic and ethical manner, with a view to national transformation and development and the construction of an egalitarian society.

 

Specific objectives

  • Provide students with the opportunity to become aware of the need to act within ethical, moral, legal and civic principles, developing them as human beings and as a workforce; 
  • Provide comprehensive training for students in such a way as to enable them to research, criticize, study, analyze, interpret, plan, implement, coordinate and control actions in the field of administration, enforcing professional legislation and ethical standards to which public management is subject; 
  • Train professionals capable of acting dynamically in transformations within and outside organizations; 
  • To enable students to face the challenges and local and regional peculiarities of the public sector, considering the social function they must perform, through solid training that provides them with a foundation in general culture, complemented by a holistic view of their realities in the humanistic and technical dimensions; 
  • Prepare the student to act as a public manager, getting involved with decisions, strategies, seeking to incorporate the standards of excellence of public administration around the world in the face of changes and the commitment to environmental preservation and sustainability; 
  • Prepare leaders for public administration, generate new entrepreneurs and train workers already in the market to work in public management; 
  • Awaken in professionals the interest of training themselves as entrepreneurial public managers, managers and technicians prepared to face the most diverse challenges and needs of society, with leadership, initiative and creativity to interfere in reality, anticipating facts or adapting to new trends.

 

Performance in the job market 

  • It comprises the multidisciplinary field of research and professional activity focused on the State, Government, Public Administration and Public Policies, Public Management, Social Management and Public Policy Management;
  • Act as politicians, administrators or public managers in state and non-state public administration, national and international, and analysts and formulators of public policies.
